Beat the Heat with Healthy Frozen Treats: Mango Ice Cream, 2 Ingredient Watermelon Sherbet, & 3

It’s the height of summer, which means things are heating up, especially in the sunshine state! This weather has us all craving something cold and sweet, no matter your age. Many of the go to frozen treats are full of chemicals, food coloring, and additives, offering little nutritional value while derailing your health and wellness. One such summer favorite is a tasty pineapple frozen whip that while it cools you down also loads you up with chemicals, including:

  • Sugar

  • Dextrose

  • Stabilizers (Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, Locust Bean Gum, Karaya Gum, Pectin)

  • Maltodextrin

  • Citric Acid

  • Natural and Artificial Flavor (contains Pineapple Juice)

  • Modified Food Starch, Malic Acid, Artificial Color (Yellow 5 & 6)

  • Mono and Diglycerides

  • Less Than 2% Silicon Dioxide (Anti-caking)

The good news? We have an easy, healthy alternative: 3 Ingredient Healthy “Dole Whip.” We also threw in a bonus recipe for 2 Ingredient Watermelon Sherbet. Both of these recipes have no chemicals, no added sugar, and if you opt for coconut milk yogurt can satisfy even those hoping to steer clear of lactose/dairy.
