Homemade Granola Recipe
Homemade Granola Recipe 1 c. Bob’s Red Mill gluten free muesli 1 c. Sliced almonds 2 T. Shredded coconut 1 t. Cinnamon, ground 2 1/2 T. Organic coconut oil 1 1/2 T. Local honey 1 oz. Raisins Bake at 350 for 13 minutes on a greased baking sheet. I used more coconut oil. Stir once. Cool and add 1 oz of raisins.
Simple homemade granola has a plethora of health benefits especially for the drier cooler months:
- Almonds: moisten lungs, stops cough, transforms phlegm, moisten large intestines and helps with wheezing, coughing, constipation and low appetite.
- Oats: benefits conditions of dryness and boosts spleen qi and are good for fatigue, indigestion, abdominal distention, spontaneous sweats, and dysentery.
-Honey: benefits conditions of dryness and moistens lungs and large intestines. Honey is good for abdominal pain, dry cough, fatigue, hoarseness, mouth sores, poor appetite, shortness of breath and diarrhea.
-Cinnamon: expels cold, helps boost the immune system, warms and facilitates the flow into the blood vessels, warms the channels and facilitates the flow of qi to the chest. It is good for edema, palpitations, phlegm, painful obstruction especially in shoulders and dysmenorrhea.
-Raisins: are good for the blood especially those with low iron.
